After a prolonged period of correction, the fine wine market is showing signs of a long-awaited recovery. Following a "perfect storm" that saw the Liv-ex Burgundy 150 index outperform the Nasdaq by 30% in early 2022, prices have spent the last three years returning to pre-pandemic levels. However, new data suggests the "bottom of the bottle" may finally be in sight.

WineFi data reveals that trade prices climbed 4.3% in Q3 of 2025, marking the first quarterly rise since 2022. While some analysts remain cautious, others see a unique window for investors and collectors alike.

“There is a strong argument that if you are looking to re-enter the market, now could be a good time," says Callum Woodcock, Founder and CEO of WineFi. "You can’t time the bottom, but there are green shoots appearing.”

With fine wine remaining exempt from Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and Gen Z alcohol participation climbing to 73% in 2025, the asset class continues to offer a compelling mix of tax efficiency, historical data benchmarks, and legacy-building potential. Whether driven by a "flight to quality" in blue-chip Burgundy or the "mouthwatering" entry prices across Bordeaux, the market is shifting from a period of volatility into one of selective opportunity.
